Change is on the horizon for East Fort Worth and investors are taking notice. LanCarte Commercial has already seen several positive improvements in this community.

In 2016, the Texas Public Works Association named the Rosedale Renaissance Street Improvement Project as Transportation Project of the Year. The project spans from Polytechnic Heights neighborhood to downtown Fort Worth, and was an incredibly successful public/private partnership.

In addition to the Rosedale Renaissance Project, East Lancaster has recently become Fort Worth’s newest Public Improvement District (PID), spanning 243 acres from Riverside Drive east to Interstate Loop 820. Exclusively commercial properties within the district are assessed an additional $0.27 per $100 of assessed value to provide funds for landscaping, security enhancements, lighting and various other streetscape amenities. These capital improvements will enhance cameras, streets, sidewalks and roadways.

Both of these projects have brought new energy to the East Fort Worth community – along with many growing businesses. The property at 2717 Avenue B, the second oldest funeral home in Fort Worth dating back to 1937, is now fully restored to its original splendor as a lively event venue. The Iconic Ranch Style Bean Facility built in 1913, has been repurposed and is now home to the Trinity River Distillery. Visionaries like Matthijs and Jie Melchiors who developed Connex, a shipping container office and micro-retail project, are modern day pioneers. These three projects are just a snapshot of the new development and redevelopment currently thriving in the community.

As a child growing up in Austin, the area of East Austin was spoken about similarly to East Fort Worth; proceed with caution! Today, if you drive through East Austin, it is a thriving community with new restaurants, bars, hotels and prospering businesses. The same can be true for the future for East Fort Worth because of the foundation that has already been poured.

Organizations such as East Fort Worth Business Association have created a platform to bring together stakeholders and business owners to utilize a common voice for the advancement, development and improvement of the infrastructure in East Fort Worth.  If you’d like additional information on the East Fort Worth Business Association, how to get involved in the community, or a property in this area, please email me at dshelley@lancartecre.com.
